Techniker® is an academic initiative at the service of the engineering research society and individuals; with a main objective to enhance the availability of online resources and provide accessibility to them.

By providing a convenient gateway to diff­erent educational and scientific collections and services, Techniker® aims to address the educational and research needs of scholars and students in the field of engineering, by facilitating access to various information resources available on the Internet.

Techniker® is geared towards achieving the following goals:

1. Promote formal relations between members to foster collaboration and resource sharing.
2. Support optimal access to information for members
3. Promote electronic collection development and resource sharing.
4. Provide support for the implementation and management of standard library systems.
5. Improve information literacy skills and to share training, resources and expertise.
6. Select the appropriate e-resources for the users and researchers.
7. Upon demand, purchase, manage and update subscriptions requested by the members.
8. Promote open access initiatives among the members

Principal Functions:
Collection and sharing of educational electronic resources, consolidation of Scientific content, incite open access journal publishing initiatives, manage and update subscriptions.

Other Functions:
Make findings of seminars and workshops on selected topics available to university faculty, students and professionals. The major objective of Techniker® Website is to enhance the availability of and access to research resources.
